I am proud of Carl and crew!  Even though he finished 2nd it's as if he finished 1st in my book!!!!!  He and ALL the guys worked hard and that team effort paid off well.  He's doing so well - and I recall someone on here at the beginning of the season to take off my "rose colored glasses." I never needed them cause my faith in them is VERY crystal clear!

They are definitely peaking at the right time.  I just hope they figure out New Hampshire in two weeks, because the first race this year was not good.  But everywhere else, I am quite confident that they have good enough set-ups.  (I don't even think about Talladega because of the disaster potential for everyone there lol)

In 2008, with the way Jimmie ran in the Chase, Carl couldn't truly afford a mulligan.  But this year, there is no one guy who is dominant.  I think a guy who has even two bad races can still come away with the title...the race is so wide open this year.

I read Carl's comments and he seems pretty confident that they are peaking at the right time on the season.  He said that they aren't at that point that they were in 2008, but they are better prepared for the championship run this time around.  I think that they are right there at that edge that they need to be at.

Emily - it doesn't do any good to worry about any one place.  These days, every track has the potential to take out cars.  What you have to rely on is the consistency of the driver and the team.  The cars have been stout for RFR.  The 99 is getting better, not worse.

well the RFR cars were still very competitive.  Things tend to surprise you.

LOL..I do get surprised a lot  Wink.  I am sorry for being so negative seemingly all the time.  It's just my nature.  Instead of hoping for the best, I always prepare for the worst.  I just have a different mindset; I can't help it  Embarrassed

Be careful with that, and I'm being serious.....it can take you places you dont want to go.

New Hampshire just scares me for this team.  I HATE that place.
Outta curiosity, Why?
Is it just a boring track for you?

When we're running good, we've been good there.
But when we're off, it really shows at NHIS.

I really can't totally put a finger on why, Mike.  I guess part of it is that when Carl is off there, he is off by a LOT.  But, I just hate its configuration and style.  1. Doesn't deserve two dates and 2. no way in heck does it deserve a chase race.  It's enough I have to deal with Martinsville, but another flat short(ish) track sends me over the edge LOL.

But, I will give the place credit due to its ability to draw good crowds.
